Hi folks! You may remember the kerfuffle about whether or not small beekeepers would be charged a fee for registering their hives with the state and county starting in 2025.

Well, I renewed the registration for my hives and the club's apiary today at the BeeWhere site, and was not charged anything. They have this notice:

Apiary Registration Fees WILL NOT be Assessed for 2025
No Fee Payments are Due for 2025.
The updated apiary regulations were withdrawn by the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA), so no apiary registration fees will be assessed at this time. CDFA may resubmit the regulations for review at some point in the future at which time we will update the BeeWhere web site accordingly. For now, all beekeeper registrations will be set to a payment status of WAIVED, and any beekeepers that are already registered will have their payment statuses updated to WAIVED.

So although it's an ongoing issue, that's good news for this year, at least.

Ditto!  Thanks Rob for posting this!  I am glad that many who might have remained off the grid might now register.
