Just a reminder that the club has a free hive dive in Hayward on Saturday (tomorrow as I write this) at noon. Directions are here.
Sung says, “This will be a good opportunity to check hives to see what is going on during the winter season – we don’t really have winter like other states. This is a great time to assess each colony to see what you can do to help it to grow through January and February instead of waiting until it gets warmer. We will go through a few checklists.”I'll be there too, with extra veils to loan if you're new to the club and don't yet have your own protective gear. If you joined the club because you're curious about beekeeping, this is a great chance to see what it's like.Phil Stob will also be working on the garden starting around 10 AM. If you'd like to help with pulling some weeds, come early. It should be a beautiful day!
