First swarm was on July 15. Bees settled in a bottlebrush tree right off my back deck maybe 20 feet from the hive...I called it in to the hotline.  Well before anyone could come out, the bees were gone...relocated i don't know where. (is it possible they just returned to the hive?)
I went to Urban Farm Oasis to get more frames to add another box, and they told me that THEY ALSO  had a swarm that day... I added the box.

YESTERDAY afternoon - July 23... Another SWARM.  My nextdoor neighbor called me.  The bees settled pretty calmly into a fig tree between our homes.  I thought they might leave eventually... but they did NOT.  They are still there this morning...in a pretty orderly ball in the tree...  about ten feet off the ground I'd say.  I'm going to call the hotline, but wanted to share here and telll you all first.  I live in I live in northwestoakland/emeryvillle. Anyone want to come try to get them?close up of swarm.jpgwide shot of swarm.jpg

Hi Brian, this one has already been posted to the swarm list. Double posting can create some confusion so please if you're calling the hotline just leave it to the one person that you spoke to so that multiple posts aren't made for the same same swarm.  I know you mentioned that you had tried to post it and it seemed like it didn't go through, so perhaps there was just a delay and you sent this before you called the hotline?

Best,

Paula
