Hi folks,

I wanted to share a few pictures from the picnic on Saturday. Everyone had a great time; thanks everyone for coming.

I also want to again thank Sue for organizing the food with her usual competence and expertise, and everyone else who helped cook, provide a barrel of mead (you know who you are!), show off the hives, etc.

And I want to add a special thanks to Nils, whom I neglected to thank in person because I didn't realize at the time he had volunteered to fill-in for the missing Jerry in buying and offsite preparing / cooking pounds of chicken for hungry picnic-goers. Thanks, Nils -- it was tasty and much appreciated.

(Coming up this Sunday is the club's booth at the Solano Avenue Stroll in Berkeley / Albany. We still need volunteers, but you can volunteer right here!)

A bit tardy here, but I would also like to express my gratitude to the organizers, volunteers, and attendees of the club picnic.

I had been wanting to see the club apiary/garden for a while, and yes indeed, it's a truly wonderful oasis and a great venue for a picnic.  The club leaders and members are a delight to talk to and get to know.  The BBQ meats were perfectly prepared and cooked, and all the goodies brought to share were fresh and delicious, and many were homemade or fresh from a garden.  There were many special touches, like the keg of mead, a honey table, the hive dive demo, etc... even the weather was great!

Our leaders put in a ton of effort and did a fabulous job putting together a great club picnic.  We'll be there next year!

Thank you and hope to see everyone again soon.  Rhonda
