I’ve never heard of a top bar nuc.  What’s the use case for it?  Wouldn’t any swarm catch box work to install a swarm into top bar?

You can do a split from your full size.Hive. 

you can attract a swarm and let them build wax before you move them into your full size.Hive.

As a swarm trap, if you have a full size top bar in your yard already, it seems to be an encouragement if they swarm, to go into a smaller version.

They're awfully cute..

And even if you use it as a standard swarm trap once a colony moves in, you can easily shake them into a Langstroth. 

There is an eyelet on the front and the back to strap it to a tree or a post if youd like.
