There is no 'one size fits all' for internet business when it comes to traffic generation. Depending on your business type your campaigns for traffic will differ.

For example if you are a small retail business with a local demographic that does not sell product on the internet having an International presence on the net is not necessary. You would want to make sure you are in local directories, are using local classified ads and are using targetted methods of advertising such as Google Adwords which lets you specify your exact target down to the city you are located in.

If however you are a network marketer and your audience is worldwide and your main objective is to sponsor as many sponsors for your team as possible, you may think of opportunity groups advertising campaigns, credit based safelists, manual traffic exchanges and other places where like minded individuals hang out.
