On Saturday July 24, 2010, Church of the Messiah will hold it’s third annual Citizens United For Safety (C.U.F.S.) parade and rally. This year we will focus on stopping the violence among youth. The event begins at 10:00 am starting with a memorial dedication to honor people who have been a victim of a violent crime. The parade line-up begins at 10:30am and the parade kicks off at 11:00am. Participants this year will include:

- Government Officials from Southeastern Michigan

- Detroit Police Department

- Wayne County Sheriffs

- Michigan State Police

- Warren Police Department

- Vista Maria (Youth Organization)

- Ravendale Community Center

- YCS of America (Youth Organization)

- The Gang Awareness and Prevention Project (Youth Organization)

- The Buffalo Soldiers

- The Detroit Icons (Motorcycle Club)

- One Up Detroit (Motorcycle Club)

- Cruel Intentions (Motorcycle Club)

- Ghost Riders (Motorcycle Club)

- Camero Car Club

- City and Suburban Churches

- Neighborhood Block Clubs

The parade route is one and a half miles long. It will end on Field Street between E. Lafayette and Agnes Street. There will be speakers, food, games, music, and vendors.

Church of the Messiah will present its plan on helping to stop the violence in the city of Detroit. This event co-insides with Silence The Violence, National Day Of Action. National Day of Action cities include: New York, Detroit, Baltimore, San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, Los Angeles, and Chicago.

Metro Detroit as a whole is tired and angry over the constant reports of violent crimes towards its residents. On this day we will be bringing together local government, law enforcement, business leaders, religious organizations, and the average citizen to combat crime and foster pride within the Metro Detroit community. Please be part of the solution. Help us get the word out in the community about our annual event.

The rally and parade starts at 10:00am at Church of the Messiah 231 E. Grand Blvd at the corner of E. Lafayette. For more information contact Rev. Barry Randolph (313)633-5331 or Brian Gregg (313)974-0341.
