Hi
If you still dont know what Spacewalk is:
please check the video....at http://www.spacewalk.org
and please dont hesitate to ask questions.

last nite's meeting made a few things clear,
The United States Social Forum's existence within Hart Plaza and Campus Martius could affect us a lot.
The energy centers we want to focus on are Hart Plaza and Campus Martius, and more. But this year is going to be different,
and remember - NO one is required to participate for the whole 24 Hours. If you have an hour, great - if you have 6 hours, great.

Here are my first thoughts about the next process:

Spacewalk is going to pare down a lot because of USSF.  We are keeping the whole 24 hours within campus martius and hart plaza areas, as a "Gifting" festival, where everyone tries to give "something healing" to everyone possible within the path. - this just came up last night, so lemme know what you are thinking. the FEAST is at noon on the 24th at Scripps Park with Jean WIlson - and she needs help if you know people.

This event will incorporate - from what I can tell at the moment:

We will WALK for the entire 24 Hours. (there will be a parking area, WE MAY TAKE THE BUS to have an affect on the bus system and change up the public transport vibe for a few minutes.)  Then we will have to break for transportation to get to Scripps Park for the Feast.

WE REALLY NEED VOLUNTEERS to help feed the homeless, people to collect vegetables from markets (donation), dive at Trader Joes, and maybe ask Eastern Market the weekend before for anything they may throw away.  I am still waiting to get a confirmation from Hard Rock Cafe about their donation of 300 hot dogs.  Harbour Town Market may be able to help out too.

There are no minutes from the meeting. It was clearly chaos and calling us to simplify and make some changes to adapt to what will be happening in the city.

THIS COULD BE A BICYCLE OR ROLLERBLADE EVENT TOO

Great decision, simple and effective in my opinion.
I am holding breakfast at Scripps Park at 8 am on that day as every day during the USSF.  There will be tables and chairs for you at noon, we will keep the setup and not break down after breakfast.  I am working heavily on the project of housing folks and feeding them during the AMC and the USSF and can not step out of my schedule nor make it to any more meetings.  Please contact me about particulars and lets discuss how we can work together.  If i can join you at hart plaza I will.
Jean

With Spacewalk held entirely within Hart Plaza & Campus Martius - we
need to know the rules as laid down by the authorities in those
locations. Do we have a contact person that would know how to interact
with USSF at Hart Plaza? What is happening where during that day on
the grounds of the plaza - from that we can plan a course of action.
We can interact or create interaction in an inactive area within the
grounds. So there is still plotting out a course for action. Also need
to know hours plaza is open... usually is closed by midnight, opening
at 7am.

Are we going to create some form of identifier of persons in
Spacewalk, and how visible will that be?

I realize there are some standard practices for Spacewalk such as the
soap opera enactment, repel, tip-toe parade, and opening offering. Are
some of these being pared back?

Next meeting is on --- what date, time, location?

Great points, we talked a bit about these at the meeting.

Everyone,
I really am sorry to hear that.  A lot of folks have had to pair down their projects, me too.
Spacewalk will live on!  Long live Spacewalk!
But lets talk about feeding the homeless.  I need help with that morning it was going to be, Thursday or we could do it on the following sunday, even better because it is not an early requirement that I have to be serving 8-9 am for the people going to the USSF.
I am planning a continental breakfast for June 22, 23, 24, 25, and 26th and a send off brunch on the 27th, that's a Sunday.
Anyone can show up and do your thing when we serve!
Who is down for helping plan the food part?  Its not that hard, we should be able to knock it out easily if a few show up at the meeting.
Thoughts?
Jean
