Battalion 28, and U.S. Marines from the 8th Engineer Support Battalion will conduct engineering and
construction projects to be identified by the Haitian government.

Le navire hôpital de la Marine des Etats-Unis «USNS Comfort»
effectuera une mission humanitaire en Haïti du 18 au 30 août 2011
En collaboration avec le Ministère haïtien de la Santé Publique et de la Population, l’Ambassade des Etats-Unis à Port-au-Prince, annonce la visite en Haiti du bateau hôpital de la Marine des Etats-Unis «USNS Comfort». Le USNS Comfort arrivera à Port-au-Prince le 18 août et quittera nos ports le 30 août. La visite rentre dans le cadre de l’exercice «Continuing Promise 2011» de la Marine des Etats-Unis, une mission d’assistance humanitaire de cinq mois menée à travers les Caraïbes, l'Amérique Centrale et l'Amérique du Sud. Port-au-Prince est le neuvième et dernier point d’arrêt de cette mission. Le voyage du Comfort reflète l'engagement continu des Etats-Unis envers Haïti, et atteste de l'histoire et de l'amitié partagées entre les Etats-Unis et les pays de la région.
Les Etats-Unis remercient le Ministère haïtien de la Santé Publique et de la Population d'accueillir cette mission. Le personnel du bateau hôpital USNS Comfort travaillera en collaboration avec le Ministère de la Santé et des partenaires internationaux pour offrir des soins de santé de base et dentaires à la population haïtienne. Ils fourniront également des services vétérinaires.
Le personnel médical du bateau hôpital commencera à examiner les patients pour les soins généraux de santé et dentaires le 19 août de 8:00 a.m. à 4 :30 p.m au Terminal Varreux situé à Varreux, Cité Soleil. Les consultations prendront fin le 28 août.
En plus des soins de santé, les militaires du Génie maritime du 28ième Bataillon Mobile de Construction de la Marine et les marines américains du 8ème Bataillon de Support en Ingénierie travailleront sur des projets de construction et d’ingénierie qui seront identifiés par le gouvernement haïtien.
Cette mission illustre l'importance capitale que le gouvernement des Etats-Unis accorde au domaine de la santé en ce qui a trait à ses efforts d'assistance globale et de reconstruction en Haïti. Depuis 2010, les Etats-Unis ont décaissé plus de 74 millions de dollars pour l'assistance en santé en Haïti, y compris les soins de santé à la famille et aux enfants ainsi que la prévention et le traitement du VIH.

Hospital Ship USNS Comfort
Will Carry Out Humanitarian Mission in Haiti August
18-30
In collaboration with the Haitian Ministry of Health, the U.S. Embassy in Port-au-Prince announces the visit to Haiti of the U.S. hospital ship USNS Comfort. The Comfort will arrive in Port-au-Prince on August 18 and remain until August 30. The visit is part of the U.S. Navy's Continuing Promise 2011 exercise, a five-month humanitarian assistance mission occurring throughout the Caribbean, Central America, and South America. Port-au-Prince will be the ship's ninth and last stop on this mission. The voyage of the Comfort emphasizes the continued commitment of the United States to Haiti, and reflects the shared history and friendship between the United States and the countries in the region.
The United States
thanks the Haitian Ministry of Health for hosting this mission. The crew of the
hospital ship Comfort will work in collaboration with the Ministry of Health
and international partners to offer medical, dental, and veterinary care to the
people of Haiti.
