A Special Event this Weekend: The Fiqh of Family

Assalamu Alaikum

Our beloved Shaykh Junaid Kharsany, who has been a guest of and supported Thawr Institute events many times, will be back in Seattle this weekend for an event on marriage at the Islamic Center of Redmond. Shaykh Junaid's wife, who is also a trained scholar and native English speaker, will also be running certain breakout programs for the sisters.

This is a unique opportunity and we encourage everybody to go to the events and take advantage. A schedule of the events is presented below. You can register at http://redmondmosque.com. There is a registration fee of $25/person or $50/family, but nobody will be turned away for lack of funds. If you have any questions please let me know.

Friday:
  •  1:30pm - Jummah at the Islamic Center of Redmond
  •  7:00pm - Female Islamic Scholars at the Islamic Center of the Eastside, Bellevue, for Sisters Only
  •  7:30pm - The Team Leader at the Islamic Center of Redmond, for Brothers
Saturday:

  •  6:30pm - Islam: The Best Advice at the Islamic Center of Redmond

Shaykh Junaid was born in South Africa in 1975. He memorized the Holy Qur’an at age of 15. His higher studies began at the Madrasah ‘Arabiyyah Islamiyyah in Azaadville, South Africa where he immersed himself in the study of Arabic, fiqh, hadith, the Qur’an, and related sciences. Soon after graduating in 1996, he began teaching hadith and tafsir at Islahul Muslimeen a seminary in Durban. Shaykh Junaid has long been involved in the work of da’wah and has served as a social worker and leader for a number of communities. He is currently Imam at Masjid Jamat Islam in Inglewood, California. He is also the founder of the Riyadhul Uloom Institute in Torrance, CA. He regularly delivers talks across the United States.

Ustadah Aadilah attended Madrasatul Binaat in Durban and furthered her studies in Hadith, Tafseer and Fiqh at Jamia Islamia in Johannesburg. She graduated and recieved an Ijazat in 1994 and began teaching at the Islahul Muslimaat Girls College. At present she is an instructor at Riyadhul Uloom Institute in Torrance, CA.
