Shaykh
AbdulKarim Yahya is an interpreter for Habib Umar bin Hafiz, the
Director of world-renown Dar al Mustafa seminary of the traditional
Islamic sciences, and a teacher of Sacred Law at Qibla For the Islamic
Sciences (www.Qibla.com).
Born and raised in Berkeley, California, Shaykh Abdul-Karim, by the
Grace of Allah, embraced Islam in 1989. In 1996, he traveled with his
family to Damascus where he studied the Arabic language and Quranic
recitation. Since 1998, Shaykh Abdul-Karim has been studying under the
teachers of Dar al-Mustafa in Tarim, Hadramaut, specializing in
jurisprudence. Shaykh Abdul-Karim has been given permission (ijazah) to
answer questions according to the Shafi'i School as well as to teach
jurisprudence and other disciplines by his teacher, Habib Umar bin Hafiz, may Allah preserve him.
