I've been struggling with printing from Crystal Reports to a Zebra 2844 label printer. Long story short, I had to reinstall Windows on one of two Vista MES workstations, both of which are also used to print non-conformity labels for our parts person. Everything went as planned with the install, except for this printing issue.
The settings for the two printers are identical, and both machines have the same fonts installed. Both machines are running the same OS. Both workstations are, as far as I can tell, identical, but being that I'm not the IT guy who performed the initial setup, I'm not sure what it took to achieve the desired results. I have tried numerous drivers and version, tested different offsets, etc. I have also tried printing from the workstation with issues to the other properly functioning printer, and I get the same results. So I'm rather confident the issue is not with the printer, but rather Crystal reports.
I don't see anyway to actually run crystal as it seems you're suggesting. Crystal is installed as part of Epicor, and therefore the installation folder for Crystal contains only gif files and scripts.
Thanks for the advice, do you have any recommendations on who to contact? Epicor, Zebra, and now you have all told me the same thing, ask someone else... At this point (going on 2 months fighting this issue) I'm willing to pay for support.
Re., whom to contact. As long as you have the latest printer driver, then Epicor should be doing the support for you. I suspect the the 1st question they should ask would be re. CR runtime version and version of the printer driver.
