Location: San Jose, CA (Only Locals)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Sr. Data Migration Engineer to lead the planning, execution,

and validation of data migration activities across legacy and target systems. This role is

critical in ensuring that data is accurately and securely transferred, with minimal impact

on business operations. You will work closely with business analysts, system architects,

and developers to support system upgrades, cloud transitions, and application

migrations.

Key Responsibilities:

· Analyze source and target systems to understand data structures, relationships,

and dependencies

· Design and implement end-to-end data migration strategies and plans

· Develop, test, and run ETL processes using tools or custom scripts

· Perform data mapping, cleansing, transformation, and validation to ensure high

data quality

· Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and ensure data integrity

throughout the migration

· Conduct pre- and post-migration testing, reconciliation, and performance tuning

· Monitor migration progress and troubleshoot issues as they arise

· Maintain documentation including migration plans, mapping rules, transformation

logic, and test cases

· Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards

· Provide post-migration support and assist in resolving data-related issues in

production

 

• Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Bachelor degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related field
• 8+ years of experience in data migration, data engineering, or related roles
• The client uses Apptus CPQ – Data is all hosted on Salesforce.
• New application is build on Mongo DB.
• Etl Scripts to be build from Salesforce to new system.
• Translations
• Transformation
• Configuration based
• Strong experience with ETL tools and scripting languages
• Strong knowledge on Salesforce &amp related data structures
• Knowledge of data modeling, databases, SQL , SOQL
• Experience with data mapping, transformation, and validation techniques
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to data quality
• Effective communication and collaboration skills

 

Preferred Qualifications:

· Experience with large-scale enterprise data migration projects

· Understanding of API-based data exchange and integration

· Knowledge of data privacy regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA)

· Certification in relevant ETL or cloud technologies is a plus
