Azure Cloud Engineer – DevOps/SRE Focus (C2C)

We are seeking an Azure Cloud Engineer
with strong experience in API Management (APIM), App Services, and Azure
Functions to support and enhance cloud-based infrastructure for QBE
Insurance. This is a hybrid W2 contract role requiring 3 days
onsite—1 day in NYC's Financial District (Wednesday) and 2 days
in Edison, NJ (Monday & Friday). The role is expected to run for 12+
months and offers competitive pay up to $60/hour W2, depending on
experience, particularly with Python and/or C#.
The ideal candidate will bring hands-on Azure expertise, solid troubleshooting skills, and a willingness to grow from support responsibilities into solution design and deployment. This is a great opportunity to work in a collaborative team environment with both local and offshore resources.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and support Azure resources including API Management, App Services, and Function Apps
- Monitor application performance, availability, and integrations in the Azure cloud environment
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents, collaborating with development teams for timely fixes
- Maintain up-to-date documentation of current infrastructure
- Contribute to the design and rollout of new APIs and serverless applications
- Act as a communication bridge between onsite and offshore technical teams
Must-Have Skills:
- Hands-on experience with Azure API Management, App Services, and Function Apps
- Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills in cloud environments
- Familiarity with Azure monitoring tools and deployment pipelines
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
Nice-to-Have Skills:
- Working knowledge of C# and/or Python
- Exposure to MuleSoft or similar integration tools
- Experience working in Agile environments
- Interest in evolving from a support-focused role to full-cycle solution development
Location & Schedule:
- Hybrid: Onsite 3 days/week
- Wednesday – Financial District, NYC
- Monday & Friday – Edison, NJ (near Edison Train Station)
Interview Process:
- 2–3 rounds, including Zoom interviews and one in-person meeting at either office location
