The Frisco Silver Dollar Line is a 2 ft (610 mm) narrow-gauge heritage railroad and amusement park attraction located in the Silver Dollar City amusement park in Branson, Missouri. The railroad opened on May 27, 1962, making it the oldest operating ride at Silver Dollar City.[1] It is themed after American railways in the 1800s, more recently and specifically off the Frisco. The ride includes an 1800s themed train depot, a water tower, a trestle overpass bridge, a train wreck scene, a staged train robbery, a tunnel, a rectangular shaped roundhouse and an at-grade railroad crossing. It consists of a total of seven steam locomotives, with four of them in operating condition as of 2023. The railroad is 1.52 miles long.
In the middle of the ride, guests experience a show where uneducated train robbers Alphie and Ralphie Bolin try their best to rob the train, but guests are saved just in time by the conductor, who was tricked into searching for "Yankees". During the Old Time Christmas festival at the park, the train is decked-out in lights and becomes the "Frisco Sing-Along Steam Train". The robbery act is replaced by grandpa telling the story of Christmas.
According to the Herschends in "Jack and Pete Tell it All", the train was purchased in the winter of 1962. It was originally coal-fired, but set the surrounding forestry on fire, so it was converted to oil. The Frisco Silver Dollar Line opened on Sunday, May 27, 1962.[4]
On October 26, 2022, at around 6:00 pm, a train led by engine #504 derailed causing three of the four cars and the locomotive's tender to tip over on their right side. Six guests and one crew member were injured. Following the derailment, the railroad was closed for the remainder of the 2022 season pending an investigation by both Silver Dollar City and Missouri state investigators. The railroad later had a soft reopening on March 24, 2023 and an official reopening on March 29, 2023.[6]
On May 25, 2023, a second derailment occurred behind the Fireman's Landing area of the park causing the rear two cars to detach from the other cars and engine #14. One passenger was reported to possibly have a minor injury, but declined medical assistance. The railroad reopened on May 28, 2023 after an investigation.[7]
Hello. I live in Turkey and due to new Steam regulations the Turkish Lira is no longer the payment currency. Before the 20.11. we payed 795 TL for 12.500 Auric Cells. The average monthly income is between 2.800 - 4.000 Turkish Lira so it was expensive but somehow affordable. With the new prices for MENA-USD we have to pay the standard USD prices because Dead by Daylight didnt set up the new MENA-USD prices for those regions. So right now we have to pay 100 USD. Thats around 2.800 Turkish Lira if I convert it. In no world its affordable for people who live in Turkey or in general in the MENA regions.
My question is: Will you (like all other game devs did) adjust the MENA-USD prices or will they stay on the same level as the standard USD prices? Steam support said that each game developer has to set the new MENA-USD prices manually and if they didnt all prices are shown as the based USD prices.... So I hope you guys just forget about making manually inputs on Steam. :/
Hello, do you have any plans to change the in-game currency specifically to the currencies of the countries, or will you continue with dollars? Because the currency of some countries is lower than the dollar, making purchases becomes almost impossible. Examples of these countries are Argentina and Turkey. For now, this is probably in Steam's hands, not yours (as far I guess), but are you planning to work on this in the future?
According to the Steam Support the game developer has to set new prices for the new introduced MENA-USD/ LATAM-USD regions. If the game developer didnt set them up both regions get the based USD price, which is the case right now. Thats why I asked, if they just forgot to enter the new prices for those regions or if the increase of like 350%(+) is really planned.
Probably the biggest thing they can do is to convert the in-game dollar exchange rate to TL, but I think there will be no decrease in prices and it will be directly at the same price of the USD version.
BRANSON, Mo. -- Silver Dollar City's steam train slipped its rails Thursday, closing the ride until further notice and slightly injuring one passenger, who declined medical attention, the theme park confirmed Friday.
The park announced new safety features after an Oct. 26 derailment resulted in injuries to seven of 160 passengers that day. The small-scale train takes up to 250 passengers at a time riding around the amusement park while the park is open and weather permitting. The ride takes 20 minutes.
"All passengers were unloaded from the train and returned to the park," Friday's statement said. "One passenger reported a possible minor injury, but declined outside medical care. The train will remain closed until further notice."
The Frisco Silver Dollar Line train ride opened May 27, 1962, and is the oldest operating ride in the park, according to previous announcements by the park. No one shorter than 4 feet tall is allowed on the ride without adult supervision, according to the park's website. The train has a top speed of 13 mph.
Missouri state inspectors after the October derailment found uneven wear on the tracks caused the cars to lean, some rails were out of alignment and bolts were loose along with uneven spaces between railroad ties and inconsistent heights on the springs on the cars, state reports show.
