After sending the mail I realised the mistake (meesaiyil mann ottavillai.. .!)
I was hoping that someone would point out that the Annan Ennadaa Thambi song
is from "Pazhani" and not "Padithaal Mattum Pothumaa". Thanks for pointing out
the slip - slip of the keyboard and not tongue ...hee...hee. !
And anybody knows how the song was penned by Kannadhasan? It is quite
interesting and very funny. I think MSV told this in a music programme some time
back.
MSV-TKR-Kannadhasan -Bhim Singh were discussing the song for the situation and
it seems one person came to the recording studio offering to sell some foreign liquor
bottle which was Rs.2,500. Nobody was having money to buy it at that time.
Kannadhasan became nervous and tried every hand but without success. Then he
immediately sent for his elder brother A L Srinivasan (ALS Productions those days!)
to send Rs.2,500 through the messenger. But ALS knew that something is fishy and
the money is not sought for some good purpose. So he flatly refused telling the
messenger that he doesn' t have any money at that time! When the denial reached
Kannadhasan he became very furious and immediately called his assistant and
started "pouring out" this beautiful song!
The beauty of this song is - it is applicable to people of all periods!

It is better to write Tamil in Tamil script or simply write in english. It makes my head spin to read tamil written in english alphabets. however suggestions to improve the group can be accepted if it is good.

Is it a sin giving some suggestion selflessly to solve a problem if that suggestion doesn’t work?
How can one hate seeing the letters of their own mother language?
How can one love a language without even knowing to read and write that language? If so, is it true love?

In my view, Writing in tamil in "mytamilsongs" forum is a good thing. I wouldn't suggest to stop that for any reason.
I'm not very sure what extend the suggestion given by our friend Palani Kumar(writing in both English and Tamil) will work.
Thanks for Asokan for the idea to learn Tamil script. For those who wants to learn Tamil scripts, here I've attached a PDF which has the basics of Tamil scripts. Also Try this link.

Please don't think it will be difficult to learn. If you know to speak and understand, It will be very very easy to learn the scripts. Little effort is required.
For your information, I'm in Bangalore. I was able learn Kannada scripts in 1 month. Don't think I learnt because of necessity. I've been in Bangalore for 5 yrs. I started learning just 8 months back just for pure interest. Eventhough I don't understand the meaning, I can read fluently now. Just I went through the scripts in net for 2 days and practiced for 1 month.
Please try once. Learning a language is learning a culture.

Those outside Tamil Nadu may have difficulties to learn Tamil. But, here in Malaysia, we have more than 500 Tamil schools. So, there is no reason why u dont try to learn Tamil.
If u put a bit effort, i hope u can leant Tamil. Its great pleasure if we send mails in Tamil.

Without meaning to get into a controversy, I would like to say that more than Tamils living outside India, it is the present generation living in Tamilnadu that can not only not read or write but also speak Tamil. My own children born and brought up in India but outside Tamilnadu suffer the same handicap; they can speak Tamil but not in a smattering way. In the light of this I find a Tamil girl from Singapore showing keen interest in the language, within the limitations she suffers, very gratifying and we should encourage her and other similar members.
To Renuka, I must say this; I personally have not written any communication in Tamil in the last 40 years and when I get this opporunity I would love to exploit it but, I realise, your needs are more important.

I have few questions to ask you.
Some of our members love to write mails in Tamil and some love to read mails in Tamil. I'm sure that it gives them an immense pleasure. Do we really need to avoid that if few members having problem in viewing the Tamil fonts?
When communicating a matter about Tamil, will it be more effective writing it in Tamil or not?
Is it a sin giving some suggestion selflessly to solve a problem if that suggestion doesn’t work?
How can one hate seeing the letters of their own mother language?
How can one love a language without even knowing to read and write that language? If so, is it true love?
The P.S part of a mail can sometimes be used to emphasize the opposite meaning other than the literal meaning. Isn’t it? I'm hurt Renu.
I welcome the view of other members in this issue.

Tamil is not a compulsory subject here in Malaysia. its an additional subject.
here in malaysia we do have Tamil schools ( from std.1 till std.6)and its the parent's responsibility
to send their kids to Malay/Chinese/ English/Tamil schools
Now many parent's relies the impotents off tamil cause just like me they regret
that they can't read or write tamil.and sending their kids to Tamil schools.
