The World Bank Office Bangkok and Thai Netizen Network will co-host the launch of the Thailand Economic Monitor: Digital Transformation, which will take place on August 24, 2017 during 1:00-4:30 PM at Anantara Siam Bangkok Hotel.
 
The Thailand Economic Monitor series is our flagship report on the Thai economy and provides an independent analysis of the near and medium-term outlook as well as structural challenges. This upcoming issue focuses on digital transformation and how Thailand can harness digital technology to lift incomes and provide new job opportunities.
 
Dr. Pichet Durongkaveroj, Minister of Digital Economy and Society, will give the keynote speech on Thailand’s digital economy aspirations. The seminar will discuss the key findings of the report by Dr. Kiatipong Ariyaprucha, Senior Economist, World Bank Thailand and Mr. Randeep Sudan, Global Lead, Digital Development, World Bank. Following the presentation of the report, there will a panel discussion on “Thailand Digital’s Transformation: Making the Dream a Reality” from our distinguished panellists include a senior speaker from the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, Dr. Somprawin Manpraset, Chief Economist of Bank of Ayudhya PLC, Mr. Ben King, from Google Thailand, and Mr. Arthit Suriyawongkul, from the Thai Netizen Network. They will share their views on key elements of the digital economy: skills for digital economy; banking industry in digital age, and trust and confidence.
