I propose to rename the "thaifonts-scalable" project [1]
to "fonts-tlwg".
[1] http://linux.thai.net/projects/thaifonts-scalable
Rationale:
- We have hosted at least 3 scalable fonts projects
at linux.thai.net. The name should be more meaningful.
'tlwg' means Thai Linux Working Group, the group
who collected and maintained the font set.
- Activated by recent changes in many places, such as
in Debian project, according to its new font package
naming policy (which was in turn motivated by Fedora),
and in ThaiLaTeX font .sty file. Both are named
"fonts-tlwg". Renaming the upstream source
accordingly should make it clear that it's the same
project.
For the latter issue, we may rename the
"thaifonts-arundina" and "thaifonts-siampradesh" projects
as well.
- "thaifonts-arundina" to either "fonts-arundina" or
"fonts-sipa-arundina".
- "thaifonts-siampradesh" to either "fonts-siampradesh"
or "fonts-dipsipa-siampradesh"
Opinions? Ideas?
Regards,
-Thep.

I agree with you.

Do you have any plans to use git as a version control ?

Sure.

Definitely agree.

Prefer "fonts-sipa-arundina"

Prefer "fonts-dipsipa-siampradesh"
IMO, We should give a credit to who creates/supports the fonts.

Deeply in the fonts field, No.

No plan. But I really want to. :-)

It's not about credit here. Rather, it's "foundry" name of the font.
(Credit is certainly given in copyright & licensing docs that come
with the fonts.)
For siampradesh fonts in particular, though, an argument against
using "dipsipa" as foundry name is for one of its license terms:
---8<---
(3) No adapted version of Font Computer Program may use
the Reserved Font Name(s), the name(s) of the copyright owners
and the author(s) of the Font Computer Program must not be used
to promote or advertise any adapted version, except obtaining
written permission from copyright owners and the author(s).
---8<---
Referring to the copyright owner's name directly in the project name
is more than "promote or advertise", I'm afraid. And that's why I
renamed the project from "thaifonts-dip-sipa" to
"thaifonts-siampradesh" before the first release.
But let's put it aside for now, as it's never included in any mainstream
distro, which makes it unmaintained in practice. And, according to the
recent intention to relicense it to GPL, the point may be gone soon.

OK. Change has been committed.
Symlink has also been made for SVN, so that you can checkout
with either old or new name:
svn co http://linux.thai.net/svn/software/thaifonts-scalable/trunk
thaifonts-scalable
or:
svn co http://linux.thai.net/svn/software/fonts-tlwg/trunk fonts-tlwg
Is there a better way for SVN migration?
(A devil in my head said "move to git". ;-) )

I've done it another way:
http://mdinescu.com/software-development/2-how-to-rename-a-svn-repository
Now fonts-tlwg is new repository, not a symlink to thaifonts-scalable.
I'll delete thaifonts-scalable repository soon, after some
re-arrangement with Debian packaging.
