You have been nominated to participate in our next Globalizer around Participative Journalism, which will be held in Bonn June 28 – 29 2014 in collaboration with Deutsche Welle, who organizes a well-known global media forum   http://www.dw.de/global-media-forum/home/s-30956

 

Last year participating fellows in our first Globalizer focused on media, really benefited from the chance to participate in this global forum and we decided to partner again, to provide this wonderful opportunity to new group of media related fellows and to give them all the benefits of the Globalizer process.  (www.ashokaglobalizer.org/media-innovation)

 

We´d like to schedule a call with you as soon as possible, as we are about to close the selection process. 

 

Could we talk sometime next Monday, 24^th or Tuesday 25^th ?

 

It would be great if before then, you could answer the following questions and send them back to me   

1.       Is scaling your idea a priority for you right now?  Which part(s) of your model are you trying to scale? (e.g. the complete model, a concept, a specific component of the model etc.)

2.       What have been your scaling efforts to date and how far have they gone?

3.       Is your organization stable (financially and institutionally) for you to focus on scaling?  Are you and your organization ready to embark on a steep scaling trajectory: financial stability, adequate staffing and flexibility, priorities, etc?

4.       How much time do you see yourself realistically dedicating to deeply analyzing, developing and implementing your scaling strategy? This is really a key point because we need to know if you have the “space” to really commit time and effort to do the proper follow thru with the important advisors that we recruit for the process (just to give you a rough guideline, we normally expect fellows to work on their scaling strategies 3-4 hours a week including a 1 hour conversation weekly with their advisory teams). 

  

Globalizer is a program that works with a highly selective group of social entrepreneurs focused on scaling social impact along with other internationally successful entrepreneurs, who serve as advisors and "Globalizer Thought Partners".   It is a 3-step process: 

1^st – initial conversation with fellow to analyze fit with the program and see if Globalizer is what he/she needs at this point of development

2nd – advisory process (typically a virtual process with a senior business leader and management consultant) who will work for 2-3 months with the fellows to refine their strategies to reach the full demand for their innovation

3rd – summit – typically 2-3 days.  On one day we bring fellows together to provide feedback to each other.  Another day, we organize one-on-one conversations with leading world entrepreneurs (who provide advice, support, personal networks and experience).  With these actors fellows gain insights into strategies for efficient global growth, and opportunities to expand their supportive network and build the ecosystem needed to create system change in the field.  After the Globalizer, Ashoka gets out of the way and it´s up to the fellows to pursue conversation, commitments and recommendations from their Globalizer Thought Partners.
