Dear Prof. Laura Maynard,
I am a brazilian graduate student (Masters in Communications in 2010), and my studies are mainly focused the internet impacts on transparency – open data, civic participation, hacker communities and political change are on the core for my research. I would like to ask some questions about the studentship available for the research programme on "The Internet, Politicial Science and Public Policy".
I am interested in applying for your doctorate program, but I got to know about it very recently, so I might have trouble in organizing some of the necessary documents until the deadline. I would like to know specifically about two of them:
- the closest date to take the Ielts exams in my city is 02/12, and they take 15 days to send out the results. I do have an old Toefl exam with acceptable scores that I took in 2005 – right before being accepted for an exchange program at a north-american university. I wonder if I can use this Toefl exam and the letter of acceptance from this university before taking a new Ielts test (and if I could attach the new Ielts results to my application later).
- I couldn't understand from the website which forms of evidence I need to demonstrate my earlier degrees – an official translation of my records would be enough?
Thank you so much for your attention. Hope to hear from you soon.
