LET’S HAVE A PARTY!!
The board of directors of Timber Heritage Association is sponsoring a barbeque and potluck to recognize the many volunteers who participate in THA activities, and without whom the organization could not succeed. Our volunteers do it all – from repairing roofs and installing wiring in the historic railroad shop buildings, to operating the equipment at Fort Humboldt State Historic Park, to selling tickets and operating the crew speeder and trailer. Others restore, repair and maintain our collection of artifacts. Yet others perform tasks behind the scenes that are essential to THA’s continued progress. The board owes a debt of gratitude to them all, and we want to take this opportunity to say THANK YOU!!
The event will take place at the Timber Heritage Museum site (930 Vance Avenue, Samoa – look for the decorations) on September 25, following our last speeder operation of the year. Social hour begins at 4:30, and dinner will be served at 5:30. THA will provide hamburgers, hot dogs and all the trimmings, beer, sodas and water, and eating implements. We ask you to provide a salad, side dish or dessert to share. See the attached flyer for more information.
Who is invited? YOU and your family are. To help us plan, please call David Young at 839-0591 or email him at d47y...@sbcglobal.net and let us know how many people will be in your party. Feel free to print up some flyers, and distribute them among your THA member and supporter friends (not everyone receives our emails).
Join us in closing out our operational year with thanks for the people who make it possible. And who knows – there might be some surprises out at the museum site!! See you there.
