The game is very humane, one will go into the fishing when the detailed tutorial guide, teach you how to catch fish. At the same time, the fish has a variety of species, you can collect them through superb technology!

I am off to Germany again but it has been some time, how do I find out what the bottom of the lakes are like, just so I know if pop up or sinking boilies are needed, also there is a lot to pick from size and flavour wise, does this matter much like the colour lures, I find hook size and weight matters more with lures, is that the same with boilies, sorry only experience I have with carp fishing is in the game and for the most part at willow where it has been just a case of getting the most expensive boilies that worked best for me and following u tube guides

Common, leather, mirror and grass carps prefer silt and weedy floors in this game. The larger trophy commons, leathers, mirrors and grass congregate @ Lake In A Lake area. Common, leather, mirror and grass carp share a common spawn area with bighead and silver carps which has both types of floors @ Stillwater Village. Moby sized bighead and silver carps congregate around Fields Of Gold area.

Common, leather, mirror, and grass carps can get into the upper trophy size range. Use a carp rod with pop-up boilies or sweet peas with method mix, carp hook 6/0 to 8/0. Also bottom rod with Jauari or Moriche fruit and feeder mix groundbait works well if you have access to those South American fruit. If not, you can also use sweet peas for smaller carp.

The heavy chaser with whatever line is for common, mirror, leather, grass carps. I've done line color testing during the summer with those carp types in both Germany and UK. They aren't programmed to line visibility at all at least when using chum mixes. I blame the X-Flavour aroma in this case. X-Flavour behaves more like a hormonal catalyst which can lower or raise sensory receptors of barbel-type fish. This may be an oversight by the devs. I've even used red braid, and they still bite just as voraciously alongside full mono lines.

However, bighead and silver carps ARE more sensitive and respond best to float fishing. I think mainly because vegetables and technoplankton aren't buoyant like pop-ups. Bighead and silver carp are used as pond cleaners to eat surface algae.

I'll be starting some Germany carp creels soon in my Carp Diary thread. I couldn't do one today because of internet issues, but I am about to post a formula for sunny warm weather moby bighead carp in Germany.

It is great to use with any kind of bait; boilies, particles, pellets, spod-, stickmixes and ground baits. It will boost the fermentation process, in this way releasing all kind of attractors which will disperse freely in water. This is a truly amazing ingredient, it has a intens deep sweet yeast aroma - a carp attractor pur sang.

X-Flavour behaves like FeedStim's Enzyme Probiotic feeding stimulant with brocacel yeast, enzymes, amino acids, polypetide and other microelements. The end result of this microelement cocktail is that it unlocks the attractiveness of all flavours and baits in cool water and stimulates feeding frenzy when carp would otherwise be resting. It even makes carp ignore line colors and fools carp into accepting natural lures like South American fruits. This type of microelement cocktail should work for all carp species, catfish, and any fish with barbel receptors.

Certain types of carp like grass and ghost are more attractive to carbohydrate calories from fruits and vegetation found in warmer conditions. So if you want to stimulate feeding for warm water baits but the water is colder than 68F/20C, you add a small amount to your groundbait. Increase X-Flavour amounts along with complimentary aromas (aromas that closely match the flavors of your boilies and pellets) the colder the water is.

South American fruits like Jauri, Moriche and Camu-Camu behave more like carp lures. Carp will be drawn to the large round shape, color and texture of these exotic fruit while X-Flavour stimulates feeding frenzy. Use X-Flavour with complimentary aromas that you know your target carp types are attracted to make these foreign fruit lures look irresistible.

The reason you use a method mix as a base to deliver extra X-Flavour hormonal/enzyme stimulant, is because method mix is already dissolved in water and hence delivers aroma expediently. Other dry spod, boilies, pellet and feeder mixes take time to dissolve and likely are extended release formula that can last for several game hours. This is why if you don't use X-Flavour in your groundbait, carp maybe slow to bite. I've seen warm water groundbait take several game hours to finally activate in much cooler water. The fast acting delivery of X-Flavour intensifies the efficacy warm water groundbaits and aromas in cool conditions.

I won't be able to complete tracking the many carp schools in Germany until I get a better internet connection. I was planning on video recording sonar activity of the large blip clusters during peak period times. However, the best I could do was drop markers where I found giant carp blips near shore. I'll come back to those markers when my internet connectivity is more stable. I'm likely going to switch from Comcast cable to a competitor fiber ISP at the start of 2021.

Germany
While watching the carp migrations in Germany, I pondered on how the fishing AI generates carp nibbling in the UK. In Germany, the blips on the sonar shows various sizes of carp in a school. The schools consists of common, leather, mirror and grass carp along side smaller bighead and silver carp with a few huge blips of unique bighead and silver carps. Moby sized bighead unis are the biggest blips on the sonar at 10-50 meters from shore. I've seen at least 1 trophy sized school of carp pass by once a real life hour with 2 uni blips. I've seen this trophy/uni carp school in both the northern most and southern most points of the map. I don't know yet if this is the same school or 2 separate schools until I make a video map of the blip patterns and compare the blips readings like an EKG map.

United Kingdom
In the UK, how would the blip patterns look on sonar if I could send an RC sonar boat to track the carp? An older fish spawning theory postulates that the fishing AI only generates 1 fish at a time. This leads some people to believe that fish do not exist in schools. However, sonar evidence suggest that the fishing AI generates migratory fish schools. Fish nibbling occurs 1 at a time per rod when presentation is optimal. Fish do not fight for hookbait. Fish attack hookbait serially, one-at-a-time. Thus, if you have 4 active rods with optimal presentation when a school migrates toward your bait, all 4 rods can hook on to individual unis, DURING optimal fishing times. Groundbait helps keep an otherwise migratory school drawn to the area you are fishing in captive fishing waterways like UK.

Optimal presentation for carp spod chum and rod groundbait include:
1) Flavored aroma to draw the fish closer to your hook bait;
2) Aroma embedded particles to slowly release aroma to keep migratory schools roaming around your hook bait;
3) Different sizes, shapes and particle colors to maintain tactile and visual interest of carp sensory receptors;
4) Enzymes embedded in groundbait and X-Flavour aroma to stimulate feeding frenzy and increase digestion efficiency to grow moby sized uniques;
5) Enriched brocacel yeast and micro elements in X-Flavour to make warm weather groundbaits, aroma and particles bio available in cold conditions. (I wish I could dip all my lures in X-Flavour.)

Hence, when you hit all 5 optimal groundbait presentation points, you can actually fish in the same spot and consistently fish-up trophies, unis and mobys to fill a 500kg creel in an hour. You won't need to use 4 carp rods to fill a 500kg creel. Just 2 carp rods will keep you fairly busy. 3-4 carp rods helps refresh groundbait and aroma. UK carp schools regenerates about every 15 minutes IRL (1 game hour) during peak activity times.

Wild Carp vs. Captive Carp
Germany carp appear programmed to wild fish behavior. This means the fish are strongly influenced by an area wide migratory pattern much like the Chinook Salmon in Alaska. This is why groundbait presentations #2 and #3 are not effective in keeping roaming schools stationary. However, they are programmed to respond to feeding stimulants and growth enzymes from X-Flavour.

UK carp appear programmed to captive fish behavior. Captive carp in real life behave more like captive cats confined to an apartment. The cats are easily bored with captive life and will ignore you if you don't stimulate their interests with shapes, colors, flavors and specific nutrients. Captive carp will get oversized and fat like Garfield the Cat if you keep their favorite food in constant supply.

I already splurged on a year of Fishing Planet premium and also The Fisherman + all Fisherman DLCs during the big sale a few weeks ago. I don't need premium but wanted to encourage the devs to keep developing my favorite fishing simulator. I also purchased The Fisherman and DLCs on sale since I've been wanting to build another fisher in Fishing Planet. Now I have a noobie fisher in The Fisherman to gauge the difference in fishing AI tweaks and economic systems. I'll post memes and articles on both iterations of this fishing simulator.

Chum Whisperer (or Fixing Random)
Now that I understand how chum elements work for carp, I'm testing chum on other varieties of fish and waterways. I have a hunch about X-Flavour enzyme enhanced gear. I'm still very much a Fishing Planet noob who adapts some scientific and programming knowledge to this fishing simulator. Veteran FP buddy, Jim Kaf, who has way more knowledge about FP updates and system iterations, expressed some frustration with the random elements of FP fishing simulations in PMs. From a scientific and programming perspective, RANDOM or CHAOS can be fixed. There are mechanisms in the fishing simulator to narrow the field of randomness to a specific range or override programming limits in creative ways. This is like a mom who combats a child's aversion to vegetables by converting the vegetables into a simulation of a favorite treat. Moms are evil this way. (Jim, I'm not admitting to being evil, but much aloha for sharing Arapaima markers
