How to change the widget text boxes names to custom ones

So far so good. I am in my last part of chapter 5 but I got lost at one point. Before getting into Widget section, the application form input boxes had the names that I wanted to. As soon as I started using widgets this changed. Does it grab the name from the table?, what if I want to have a different name?.
