Just copying Alfred, Fe'ao.

* Getting the names of the ICT People in Government should be straight
forward. Can we brainstorm of a creative way (i.e. out of budget) way to
get us all together ?

I talked with Alfred to see about what we can do early next week, but if
we can make the decision of what its going to be and where, it would be
good to get the details out early so those of us who were there can try
to push our friends to be at the "gathering."

Also agree that the meeting on Friday was very productive for me, even
if someone when off with my drinks 8-)

It seems that at least Alfred can look at the Venue / Timing, so any great ideas would be appreciated there.

If we can have 2 or 3 seminar topics that can be showcased at the meeting, then we can get more buy-in from upper-management (read: funds)

What ideas would you guys have for us to be "briefed" or reviewed ? Something of interest to you guys would obviously be beneficial and if we have great topics that are presented well, possibly we can get more upper-management support (read: more funds) for more get togethers.

Just a few ideas below, and please come up with better ones (hopefully it wouldn't be too much for someone to prep the talk, and should only take 10 minutes maximum (hange pe ko e malanga ko ee 'oku fa'a mohe'i he Sunday)

   * A Brief and where we are with GoTNET ?
   * Open Source Software - what we are using ?
   * The difference between Microsoft Exchange Server and Open Source alternatives

Of course, Fe'ao mo e 'otu ia 'oku nau sai'ia ange nautolu he vai pelepela ???

I think meeting place does not have to be at the Bar or Restaurant but since
we are going toward Christmas, almost everyone wants to be there.

Perhaps we can start the small catering again and ensure to bring in key
people there;

Technical GW:

(1) Siosaia Fonua - ICT Society
(2) Sione Veikoso	- TCC (e-mail above)
(3) Siu Moala	- TCC
(4) Saia Vaipuna	- MOF
(5) Sam Kava	- Tonfon (e-mail above)
(6) Havili Movete	- TDB
(7) Ikapote Tavalea - RFB
(8) Saia Tulua	- Dataline (e-mail above)
(9) ... - (If you know someone, please fill up the name)

Our Leader - Saia Vaipuna will have to navigate the group discussion to
focus on any two points although it is a bit hard to control the informal
discussion.

Time and venue for this small catering will be OK with me anytime/place

Another good idea. While I am a social drinker we need to cast a wider
net to capture non drinkers - a tanoa as an alternative.

I spoke to Ed the deputy NZ high commissioner and he was interested in our
work. He suggested AusAid if we want cash quickly. I am a bit of miser
so Dept funds are there if we need to use them but it must follow the
draconian procurement procedures! Will speak to Kirsten Hawke at AusAid
once I have cleared by desk.

Fully support the social gathering perhaps after a couple of hours hard
brain storming.
