Kataki pe kapau ‘oku ou too mama’o atu au mei he me’a ‘oku fai ai e talanoa, kae mahalo pe na’a ‘aonga atu. The way I observe on how we interconnect in terms of networking, Tonga network is made up of TCC and TONFON as the first tier network, and I can include Government Network there (assuming the fiber cable will be in place in the future). Each network is considered an autonomous system and the current point of interconnection is INTERNET - internet is the biggest issue in terms of speed where we want to solve!.
I believe the interconnecting amongst those three networks (as intranet ) should be included in the Fiber Cable Project but right now, we need to interconnect TCC and TONFON by wireless medium as the quickest, and setup as intranet backbone (ie, reconfigure all the necessary ICT components such as DNS, DHCP, Email, Web-servers, AS Routers etc). This way will help us maintaining the internal traffic within Tonga Network, and allow only traffic that suppose to the internet.
I believe on building the most needed ICT infrastructure and enhance it as we along especially the followings;
(1) Networking
(2) Affordable End User Terminal (PC)
(3) Affordable Connection
