As volunteers, we are constantly struggle to balance our time fulfilling our needs and help others. Some struggle with assignments, deadlines and so on. In whatever situations, whether in university, workplace, home or RAY, it is important for us to have the right worldview. This is because; our worldview influences our thoughts and actions.

Volunteers are increasingly facing the need to reconsider own values in order to maintain the good cycle of knowledge sharing in respective RAY. Recently, Teach For The Needs (TFTN) through the Training Unit organized a Khalifah Method Workshop.  In collaboration with Khalifah Institute, the Khalifah Method Workshop  allowed fellow volunteers to look deep within themselves, to explore own development, character, attitudes and values, as well as relationship with the Creator and the purpose of life.

The seminar was held at Nur Lembah Pangsun Eco Resort, April 25-27, 2014, aimed at bringing forward a discussion on how to better own selves and develop positive attitude and meaningful human relationship.  The main thread of Khalifah Method Workshop was a critical review of the roles of khalifah, considering not only the impact brought for own selves but also to other people. The seminar was attended by about 45 participants, many of them being students from different higher education institutions.

Khalifah Method Workshop served several thought-provoking presentations about the right worldview, objective understanding of right and wrong, Islamic psychology, law of learning and also implementation of positive influences.  The series of presentations was closed by another thought-provoking presentation by Prof. Dr. Alini Marzuki, Khalifah Institute Board of Director, together with few teachers who provided additional views and experiences in practicing Khalifah Method at schools.

It was an exceptionally interesting and informative workshop. We learnt a lot from the speakers. The seminar reminded us that being a khalifah is not easy, even worse, we will be questioned by Allah for what we have done and we need to be responsible for our deeds. Hope that those who came for the seminar will put the information gained into practice.

That information is now your knowledge. Since we are living in society, it does not stop there. Go and share the knowledge with others. The more people we share our knowledge with, the better we are going to be. Do remind each other of what was discussed during the seminar, will you?

TFTN would not stop here, there will be a series of continuous training for volunteers in future. Please do not wave your white flag. Although people find volunteering is a challenging act, it is actually very rewarding. Keep spreading the love, volunteers!
