Greg,

Finally got Tangled Sighting loaded a running. all seems to work
except...

When I try to create an eBird report from a sighting file that has 28
sightings...the Ebird report contains 2246 sightings! About what
Tangled has as total species (2255) and includes many species that
have never seen the boundaries of Colorado!

Just wondering if it is as you suggest my old and dying Palm...or
another problem?

Hi, Ken.

"I've never seen a Palm device fail with the problems you've been
reporting. However it is possible it is giving up the ghost."

This is another problem I haven't seen and no one else has reported.
However if you give me the data and details to recreate the problem,
I'll take a look. Meanwhile, you may want to take a look at the
"installation detours" column at http://eduneer.com/guide/installation.html

Greg,

I'm encountering the exact same problem with a Palm TX. I've re-
installed the current versions of Tangled (10.3.4) and TS (10.3.1).

As a test this morning, I tapped three species into TS, having
selected the site and observer. When I switch to "sighting" no birds
show up in the list, then when I go to create an eBird report, the
message I get is "eBird report created (2253 sightings, -30884bytes)
at /tangled/sighting/report/eBird-2010-04-30-Bxnd.csv"

Hi, Rob.

I tried your test and was able to confirm the large number of
sightings and the reported negative file size for the generated
report. I think those problems are fixed in TS version 10.4.1 (just
released).

Concerning TS's empty "sighting" list, did you try switching to the
"sighting files" list and recompiling?

Greg,

I went to the Eduneer site and downloaded TS this morning. When it
installs, it says it is installing 10.3.0.2. Once it has installed, it
says the version is "beta version 10.3-build 1." I have recompiled my
sighting list, which did then display the birds I have listed via TS.
A quick test showed that I'm still getting the same problem with the
ebird report.

Hi, Rob.

That ts-Installer should display that it is installing 10.4.0.1, and
it did when I tested it before posting it yesterday. The file size is
481,600 bytes. If you're certain that you downloaded the most recent
installer, I'll download it again and see if I also get the old
version that you're seeing.
