Hi There,

I've deleted Tangled and auto start applications from my Palm Tungsten E2.  Then I downloaded and opened tangled-Installer.prc.  Then I hot synched my Palm with my computer.  After the hot synch was complete, Tangled was on my Palm.  I disconnected the Palm from the computer.  I tapped on the green "T" and, after a few seconds, received the following message, "Fatal Alert.  class2.c,Line:3137, classify DB not found (err:0x0207)  (Reset)".  I have repeated this a few times with the same result.  An e-mail from Greg said I'm supposed to see the AOU list.  I do not see the AOU list.

Help!

Hi, Wendy.

I've dusted off my Tungsten E2 and verified that running the tangled-
Installer.prc application results in the installation of a Tangled
application that displays the AOU list. Perhaps you can find someone
in an IT museum or a retirement home who remembers how to run a Palm
installation application. :*) Seriously, when the tangled-
Installer.prc installation application is running on your Tungsten E2,
you should see a dialog having the title "Package Installer" and in
that dialog it should say "Installing tangled 10.8.0.1". After a
minute or so of installation, you'll be able to run the Tangled
application (i.e., the green T icon in the Palm application
launcher). On the first run of the Tangled application, you'll see
"Linking ..." for about a minute, followed by the AOU list.

Still trying.......
Okay, my husband and I deleted everything on my Tungsten E2 and then
reloaded everything about 3 times. We were able to go back and
download the field guide multimedia again (after deleting the first
one), but the best we were able to get was Tangled actually running
with photos and audio, but the photos were very faded (hard to
describe but definitely not "normal" photos), and the audio was very
scratchy and difficult to listen to. The worst was after reloading
everything and launching Tangled, we get the following message: Fatal
Alert, class2.c, Line:3137, classify DB nof found (err: 0x0207).
Reset.
Any suggestions? We're wondering if there was some sort of problem
with the initial downloads, and is it possible to try another,
different, download?
Thanks.
Wendy
P.S. I do have more up-to-date hardware , but I like to have
different options.

Hi, Wendy.

I'm not seeing the type of problems you are reporting and, as far as I
know, no one else is. You're going to have to go one step at a time
if you want me to be able to understand what's going on. Previously,
you wrote that the installer application (tangled-Installer.prc)
didn't work: you were getting a "classify DB not found" error, and the
AOU list was not displaying. Is the installer application working for
you now so that the AOU list is displayed? If so, what changed?

Hi, Wendy.

It is possible you were accidentally deleting the classify DB when
copying the different components to the SD card's /tangled directory
(the directories should be merged instead of replaced during the copy
process). However, that wouldn't explain the installer application not
installing an application that displayed the AOU list.

Is it safe to assume the SD card that I loaded with the three
components (i.e., application, phenotypic directory, multimedia
directory) is working correctly on your Tungsten E2?
