The Tangled Sighting application (a.k.a. TS) is a data entry form to a
spreadsheet located in the /tangled/sighting directory and named
according to the site and observer you have defined/selected. In the
classification list, tap an already highlighted species (i.e., double
tap) and the data entry form will appear. The advantage of TS is that
it automatically fills a lot of the form's fields, including location
if a GPS receiver is connected.
The details, such as file format, are the same as they were for the
Species Inventory application (a.k.a. SI) and are described in section
4 of the old ufg manual at http://eduneer.com/ufg/ufgpau.pdf
A planned capability in TS is to support report templates to enable
the translation of the TS spreadsheets to formats compatible with
other species sighting efforts, such as eBird and the Breeding Bird
Survey.

Because of the vast changes in tangled, I am sorta waiting for things
to settle in before responding with problems.
However.. I am having large numbers of problems and difficulty
figuring out the new navigation process. For example.. when double
clicking on say Red Tailed Hawk.. the sightin generated is Murphy's
Petrel. When I select say Swainson's Hawk..I get the sighting record
for Murphy's Petel..when I select anything that should be in my
geographic region (16 or 18)...I get Murphy's Petre.
While the info line on the very top..where TS and the Tangled icon
display...it shows that the sorting is for seasonal geographical...but
it does not display that..it is as if there is no sorting occurring.
Just thought I'd put those twpo out there. Of course...my mine reason
to use TS is for the eBird interface and that is missing as you stated
above..
FYI......
