Hi, Wendy.
Although you're challenging my questionable memory asking about PalmOS
installation problems, I tested Tangled on an E2 before release. So,
I think the installation problem you are seeing is not E2 specific.
Also, the autostart application is for the convenience of having the
Tangled application automatically start whenever the SD card is
inserted. It is optional, and is not the recommended approach to
installation, especially when troubleshooting.
There are three components to Tangled: the application (i.e.,
tangled.prc), the phenotypic data directory, and the multimedia data
directory. It is possible to install them all at once. However if
there is an installation problem, it is helpful to install the three
components one at a time to help isolate the problem.
1) Therefore, I recommend deleting the /tangled directory from your SD
card, deleting the Tangled and autostart applications from your E2 (by
using the PalmOS launcher's 'App/Delete' menu item), and reinstalling
the tangled.prc file on your E2. When you run the Tangled application
by tapping the 'T' icon in the PalmOS launcher, you should see the AOU
list.
2) After you get tangled.prc displaying the AOU list, copy the
phenotypic data to your SD card, and select the 'select/link' menu
item in the Tangled application's class list. To test this part of
the installation, switch to the Tangled application's attribute list.
The attribute list should not be empty.
3) Finally, copy your multimedia to your SD card, and select the
'select/link' menu item in the Tangled application's class list. Now,
you should be able to access photographs from the Tangled
application's photo list.
Break up the installation into those three steps, and let me know if
you encounter a problem.
