On Dec. 17th, 2014 simultaneous announcements were made by the presidents of Cuba and the U.S., Raúl Castro Ruz and Barak Obama respectively.  One of the main disclosures was on the steps being taken to establish full diplomatic relations between the two countries and it raised many concerns and questions amongst some friends of Cuba and the general public as to what would happen to the legacy of the Cuban Revolution.  We have to fully support this new move since it’s based on mutual respect which has always been one of Cuba’s requirements. We also have to keep in mind that the criminal illegal economic, financial and commercial blockade imposed on Cuba by the U.S. is still in place and it continues to hurt Cuba immensely.

In order to understand the new relations, as well as the opportunities for advancing the Cuban Revolution at home and in the assistance it offers to other countries through its internationalist commitments, we need to continue building the solidarity movement with the socialist project of Cuba.
Please join us in this forum in order to find out the truth about this issue.  There will be ample time available for questions and comments.
