Hi all,

We found out this evening from our longtime friends from camp, Mike and Angela Tiland, that their four year old daughter Madison has cancer in her eye. She will likley be having surgery to remove the eye. There is a possibility that the cancer has also spread to her brain. They are undergoing testing to find out.

Chris went to college with both Mike and Angela. They are the ones that recruited him to be on staff at the camp where we met. They are also the friends who originally gave us the "baby making kit" we've been passing around amongst ourselves these last few years. In addition to Madison, they have a son named Andrew and are due with their third child on February 15.

Our hearts are heavy with grief for them. Please lift them up diligently in your prayers.

Update:

Further testing has found no cancer in Madison's brain. Praise the Lord. They will not be undergoing chemotherapy but she will be having surgery to remove her eye by the end of this month.

Angela gave birth to their third baby this morning, a son named Ryan.

This is beautiful news and this shows that GOD works. 

BTW... I love that name 😉.

Madison will be having her eye removed tomorrow morning at 10 am  (eastern time.) Thank you for your prayers.

Was the surgery a success?

Surgery was successful and routine. Everything went well. The doctor said he was really pleased with it. Madison did great and there was minimal bleeding.

The surgery was done at St. Jude's in Memphis, the family flew back home to South Carolina yesterday.

Please continue to pray that her body will be protected from infection as she recovers.
