LEC Teamsters, thanks so much for hopping on the call tonight. To wrap it up, I wanted to send a quick summary out to everyone:
- Current Glows:
- Personal connections with corps members/mentor role
- The (few) corps members who have attended events have found them helpful
- Grows:
- Low corps member attendance is decreasing CL motivation/investment to organize great workshops
- New Information:
- Beginning immediately, mini-slips highlighting upcoming LEC PD events will be sent to PD's to distribute in person to LEC corps members
- SPRING RESTRUCTURING: the LEC Team will host 3 mini-conference-style workshops (1 focus workshop, 1 content specific session then informal collaboration/planning time) in the spring.
- The LEC team will work more cohesively to plan LEC PD.
- Less events --> higher CM attendance and more efficient planning for LEC Team Leaders
- Please send any additional thoughts, opinions, etc for spring to Ashley ASAP!
- Upcoming LEC Events:
- Thursday October 21st ECE Content Meeting (SF & South Bay)
- Sunday October 24th: 1st grade Content Meeting (San Jose)
- Saturday November 6th: Kinder DRA training 12:30-2:00/LEC Guided Reading Workshop 2-3:30 PM (TFA office) (*I unfortunately will be unable to attend this PD as I am the point person for coordinating volunteers for the Edgewood Hope Chairty Ball on November 6th)
- TBA: Weeknight Kindergarten Content Meeting
- Please send the remaining location and time details to Ashley ASAP.
- LEC Content Leader Professional Development: Look out for the survey coming your way THIS week! :)
Thank you for being so committed and flexible to/with your role. You all are doing a
FANTASTIC job! As always, let me know any way I can help and/or support you and your corps members. Have a great week!
