How to Download and Install Data Loader for Salesforce on Mac

Data Loader is a tool that allows you to insert, update, delete, and export Salesforce records. It is available for both Salesforce Classic and Lightning Experience, and it supports various data types and formats. Step 1: Install Java Runtime Environment (JRE)

    • Open this link and scroll down to "Download Azul Zulu Builds of OpenJDK".

      Step 3: Install Data Loader for Salesforce

      To install Data Loader for Salesforce, follow these steps:

        • In the Data Loader folder, double-click the installer.command file.
        • If you canât open the file because of an unidentified developer message, press the Control key while clicking the installer.command file, and select open from the menu.
        • Specify where to install Data Loader.
        • Specify whether to add a Data Loader launch icon on your desktop or Applications folder.
        • Data Loader completes the installation.

        Step 4: Run Data Loader for Salesforce

        To run Data Loader for Salesforce, use one of these methods:

          • Use the Data Loader desktop icon.
          • Use the Applications folder.
          • Use the dataloader.command in your installation folder.

          If Zulu OpenJDK isnât found, a message prompts you to download and install it.

          To continue using your settings from an earlier Data Loader version in version 45 and later, migrate your config and log files after installation. Search for config.properties and log-config.xml, and copy or move the files to your current Data Loaderâs /config folder.
