Now with TextWrangler 4.0 (OS X 10.6.8), when I open files by
dragging them to the TW icon in the dock, each one opens as a new tab
instead of a new window.

I seem to recall that in TW 3.x there was a Preference that handled
this but I can't find it in 4.0. (I looked in the User Manual but
couldn't seem to find it.)

Can anyone straighten me out on this?

Thank you,

David

This one got me, too.

It's not at all obvious from the name, but in Preferences/Application,
uncheck "Open documents into the front window when possible".

You are right, it isn't obvious--I saw that one many times but passed
right over it. I somehow also couldn't find the answer in the
documentation. (Probably just didn't look hard enough.)

Thank you for the solution--

Thanks! Two years after this post, it is still not obvious that this is what you need to do. I have been searching on and off for a year to figure out how to do this!! Many thanks.
