When you tell TextWrangler to set a marker in your current document, it actually creates a SEPARATE file in which the markers and other special instructions (like your preferred word wrap settings, etc.) for THIS file get stored. When you reload your file, the "special marker" file gets reloaded as well. As that file does not exist on your other computer, you will not see any markers over there. This is by design.

Otherwise, TextWrangler would have to insert "special" characters into your document that could be read in as garbage in other programs (like an HTML or PHP parser, for example).

Hi,

I need some assistance from the forum experts here. I have been using TW 4.5 to note down the installation log. And I am using the "set marker" functions a lot to chase down different section of installation.

I am also copy this file to another Macbook Pro Snow Leopard (have same version of TW) to review. When opening the same file, all markers are DISAPPEARED.  I tried this a few times to ensure that I have save the original document (in another Macbook Pro) and open that and see all markers. How come all those markers would disappear in another Macbook?

Is this a bug or the fact that TextWrangler is a freeware and this function is only complete when you pay to upgrade to BBEdit? this is just a bit frustrating because you spent all the while to mark down and it disappear.

Thanks so much for your attention and help here.
