I'm trying to search for this text:

(402) Chloe

so my search is:

\(402\) Chloe

but I'm getting this error

"The replacement string couldn’t be computed, because the previous
Grep search did not succeed (application error code: 12003)"

You might try it without "grep" enabled...? My take is that you're searching for a larger pattern and this is just part of it, is that right? If so, the problem may be elsewhere in your grep pattern.

Works for me. What's the replacement pattern you have?
