Force to Mono spaced font

I need to run a bunch a cleaning steps on text, but when finished I need to have the output forced to a mono spaced font. I can format it to Courier New and Monaco, but it gets pasted as the default Serif text.

Is there are a way to force it to default to a mono spaced designation be fore leaving TextSoap?
