I'm using TM Version 1.x (build 1631).
Some of the characters (in text mode) are not displayed "normally" (i.e., the way they have been). For example, the character - (minus) creates a red highlight where is appears. Let's say I'm writing -- enable SSL -- in a middle of a sentence, the -- enable SSL -- part is highlighted in red for no apparent reasons (I haven't changed my setup). Also, the sign > is changed to > with an underscore.
Any idea why this is happening? Might have changed something without knowing it?
Thanks in advance.

It sounds like you changed the language grammar used.

In the status bar there is a pop-up which shows the language used. This should say “Plain Text” (for effectively having no highlight of special characters).

Thanks for the answer.
There is indeed a status bar at the bottom of the edit window, but there's no "plain text" choice, only "textile", which I selected.
I must have done something wrong without knowing it, because I don't remember changing anything to my config., it just happened (I mainly use TM for Ruby dev, without a problem).

If you click Textile, a menu does not appear?

If 'Plain Text' is not in the drop-down then you have disabled the
'Text' bundle.

Goto menus: Bundle->Bundle Editor->Show Bundle Editor, at the bottom
of the window is a button labelled 'Filter List', in the list make
sure to tick next to 'Text'.

Thanks for the tip, Justin, but it didn't change anything. All the bundles were already checked off (therefore active) including Text. Went back and forth several times, even clicked on "Reload Bundles", to no avail.
Kind of giving up! (I'm using TM just for text and Ruby dev., paradoxically, the Ruby bundle works fine!).
Too bad because there are many TM features I like.
Marc
