RanchoDel Rey Middle is offering a before/after school tutoring program. Our students are also welcome to utilize the school library as their homework center as needed. Please see the schedule below for your information or click here for the flyer:

Homework is due in class on the due date, before the beginning of class. If you cannot make it to class, please make sure to get me the homework on time. Homework should not be left in my mailbox or under my door. Such homework, as well as late homework will not be graded and will be considered as "not done".

Homework in the Placentia-Yorba Linda Unified School District is an essential part of the learning process. Assignments will vary in accordance to the needs of the class and will relate to classroom instruction.

Homework assignments are intended to reinforce and extend learning initiated in the classroom and serve as a tool for teachers to monitor student understanding. Completion of routine homework can motivate students to develop good work habits, while increasing the opportunity for individual initiative and responsibility. Homework can also stimulate creativity, critical thinking and awareness that learning can take place outside of the classroom. Grade level specific guidelines are available via the links below:

Bring a BLUE BOOK.

Q:Is the exam cumulative?

A:Yes, but it will emphasize the material since the last exam.

Q:What may I bring?

A:Two sheets of notes. For example, the notes for the hourexams with notes on multiple integrals added to one of the pages.

Q:How long is the exam?

A:It is roughly twice the length of the second hour exam and youhave the full 3 hours for the exam.

Q:Can I bring my grade up if I did poorly on one hour exam?

A:That depends on how you do on the final. This was discussedon the course web page. Clickhere for more information.

Q:What about other questions?

A:See questions about the hour exam below.

Hour exam questions

Q: WillI need a blue book?

A:Yes, and one should be plenty.

Q:What may I use on the exam?

A:Nothing except your mind and one page of notes (both sides okay)--- it's closed book.

Q:May I use a calculator?

A:No.

Q:Is there a sample exam?

A:No. Some old exams are available, but the syllabus has changed a bit since then.

Q:What material in the sections are we responsible for? Isit just the homework?

A:No, it is not just the homework. The homework is meant tobe representative but may not cover every last item. I attemptto cover everything you need to know in the lectures. Youare responsible for the material in the text except things your are told to omit.

Q:Can you suggest review problems?

A:Yes. Obviously, you can work at other problems at the endsof the sections we've covered in class. In a mathematicstext that has problems after each section and problems after eachchapter, its often helpful to work problems at the end of thechapter. Those problems don't tell you which section touse, which is like an exam. In Stewart, look at the "ConceptCheck" questions to see that you understand the ideas andlook at the "Exercises" to see that you can do problems.

Below we present examples of typical problems that we may give as homework and discuss in our meetings. They are not standard problems, and there are no ready recipes for how to solve them. We put the easier problems first and the hardest problems last.

Stanford Pre-Collegiate Studies advances the education of academically motivated, intellectually curious, pre-college students. We offer a variety of programs designed to meet the needs of students everywhere.

Educators have debated the merits of homework since the late 19th century. In recent years, amid concerns of some parents and teachers that children are being stressed out by too much homework, things have only gotten more fraught.

I think that last question about Good help from parents is not know to all parents, we do as our parents did or how we best think it can be done, so maybe coaching parents or giving them resources on how to help with homework would be very beneficial for the parent on how to help and for the teacher to have consistency and improve homework results, and of course for the child. I do see how homework helps reaffirm the knowledge obtained in the classroom, I also have the ability to see progress and it is a time I share with my kids

I get you have a concern about the issue but that is not even what the point of this article is about. If you have an issue please take this to the site we have and only post your opinion about the actual topic

Yes, I think homework plays an important role in the development of student life.

Through homework, students have to face challenges on a daily basis and they try to solve them quickly.I am an intense online tutor at 24x7homeworkhelp and I give homework to my students at that level in which they handle it easily.

Homework is too severe and is just too much for students, schools need to decrease the amount of homework. When teachers assign homework they forget that the students have other classes that give them the same amount of homework each day. Students need to work on social skills and life skills.

I agree with hunter because homework can be so stressful especially with this whole covid thing no one has time for homework and every one just wants to get back to there normal lives it is especially stressful when you go on a 2 week vaca 3 weeks into the new school year and and then less then a week after you come back from the vaca you are out for over a month because of covid and you have no way to get the assignment done and turned in

Practice; however, can be extremely beneficial, especially if there is some sort of feedback (not a grade but feedback). That feedback can come from the teacher, another student or even an automated grading program.

As a former band director, I assigned daily practice. I never once thought it would be appropriate for me to require the students to turn in a recording of their practice for me to grade. Instead, I had in-class assignments/assessments that were graded and directly related to the practice assigned.

Here is the tentative course schedule. Typically, sections are lecturedduring the week listed, then the webwork and workshop cover those topics in the following week. This schedule is meant as a rough course outline; there will likely be small changes as the semester progresses.

There are several webwork assignments due during the first 4 weeks. See the Math 161 webwork site for exact deadlines. After the BSE there is generally 1 webwork homework assignment due every Friday, at 11:59pm.
