Keypad swap

Good afternoon,

A quick query, Ive spilt some paint stripper on my keypad when stripping back the wood on the stairs,(it melted a bit!) I'm obviously wanting to just swap out the keypad.

If I purchase the same model, is it just a case of removing the 4 wires inside the panel and connecting them to the new panel?

I guess I'm also asking if the keypad stores any settings or if these are all stored in the control box and the keypad is just a slave device?
