Town Hall Meeting Minutes:
Making Retreat Longer
Some were under the impression that Retreat was sleepover vibes
Sisterhood budget is $2000 → which is not feasible to host 150 gals overnight, transportation, food, etc
Maybe next semester, allocating more funds to retreat?
Previous semesters did overnight Starlette retreat, which came out of Recruitment budget
If we charge for the cost, then we cannot make retreat mandatory
This year’s retreat is airbnb vibes, but just 2.5 hours → pool, games, day camp vibes
Increasing Participation/Retention
Issue in the past
What has been done:
Pre for mixers together to walk over all together
mixing/collabing with different orgs as well as trying to do new events each semester
Salsa Limon tab
Wine Night
Ultimately up to use to stay engaged, pour into your friendships, mix with other classes, plan dates, with fam to increase retention
Good way to meet people is Lonestar Latte!!!
Lonestar Studs
Existed in the pst
Dissolved due to safety concerns
Prioritize lonestar safety
Complications if dissociation occurs (i.e. ironspikes)
Pull from our budget
Do not help out even if placed as a requirement (BD)
What was the process like:
The potential studs came in and talked and then voted, but everyone kind of just voted yes, previously social handled that process
If we consider reintroducing: Potential application process? A board to review? Having requirements? Semesterly?
What do they do?
Uh like nothing.

Showed up to welcome tab
Were supposed to be at BD but didn’t appear
If we bring them back:
Can we vote on them returning?
Would it appear inconsistent?
Lowering Point Requirement during Ramadan
Totally understandable to have to miss GM because it’s during Iftar time
Lots of a non-strenuous and diverse ways to earn credits throughout the month.
If you are stressed you can always reach out to the specific officer to help you figure out a plan for credits
Charis are working hard to make sure there’s enough opportunities for you
Aamina → we are flexible, reach out to exec to any concerns
Merch (pins, totes, UT inspired, Signature Item Symbol)
Potential embroidering?
Simply not in the budget unfortunately and have to think about future semesters as well :((
Game Day pins done last semester, available for purchase at garage sale (starlettes, you receive merch during big/little week)
Totes will be the same as last semester
Real canvas material/embroidery
Ultimately comes down to money and how it’s managed so starlettes can get other things
Signature Items form has been open this semester and last semester, did not receive the idea prior, items have already been ordered, also costly to embroidery from a different party
Keep in mind, this is the first time in the past 20+ years that we’ve been able to get a signature time and must be ordered every semester moving forward
Maggie has a suggestion form open for submissions as well as phone number
Buy Back form → if you give a shirt/tank you get $5
At Garage Sale → old items will be on sale, cost depends
Things coming this semester: a sweat set/hoodie, baby tee, stickers

Formal: consistently done as a tab in the past, keep budget friendly, describe “cool location”, needs to be 18+

Future mixers with: TXBB, TXOJs, Spirits, Royals

Disassociated from Iron Spikes
Mixers are a 2-way streets
If we want to continue having these mixers, so we need to show up and show out, keeping these good relations with orgs
Apartments:
We use buildings that have worked in the past so events do not get shut down
Convenience for people on and off campus (i.e. Torre)
Exec chairs host and have to bring supplies to events based on which places work for them as well
Sober star for the pre could maybe do the fob?
Mixer Themes
Not mandatory to follow theme
Themes facilitate conversation/break the ice
Not meant to be an extra cost
Encourage you to reach out in flare/group chats if you’re looking for anything to borrow
Reach out social with ideas
Remember it’s usually’ between 2-3 orgs we mix with not just up to us
Tabs on Thursday
Welcome Tab on Thursday because it is cheaper
Crush on Thursday because of Ramadan and the only weekend that worked but also Boutique Day weekend
Formal on Friday
Adding More Sisterhood/Social Credits
Showing up to sisterhood events because they are so fun and wholesome and want more turnout!! It’s important to us!!
2-3 mandatory sisterhood credit requirements?
Maybe do non-varsity/varsity style sisterhood events
Social has good turnout → sisterhood may need a bit more attention
If we up the 6 credits, does that change how many for spirit?

This is what differentiates us from other spirit orgs

It is something you WANT to do, not something you have to be at

As historian, she is NOT required to post specific post

Initiation will be posted → with individual girls
Cannot tag over 20 people on a post
Field Day Spirit Event

Just had pickleball tournament
Having spirit events such a minute to win it (new this semester)
IM Teams → the more interest there is, the more we can do, cannot make a team with just a few folks
