Good afternoon,
Texas Digital Library and its TDL OER Users Group invite anyone who works with, advocates for, or is interested in open education to join us for our next OER @ TDL meet-up. Event details are below.
DATE: Wednesday, November 6
TIME: 1:00 pm - 2:30pm Central
Topic: Supporting Open Pedagogy
Open pedagogy is becoming increasingly prevalent in institutions of higher education as a means of engaging with students as co-creators of knowledge. Given their unique expertise in open licensing and assignment planning, librarians are well positioned to provide support for open pedagogy. In this panel discussion, we will hear from three librarians about how they collaborate with faculty members to support open pedagogy assignments at their respective institutions. They will share their favorite resources and best practices that attendees can utilize for growing open pedagogy support at your own institution.
Panelists:
Ariana Santiago, Head of Open Education Services, University of Houston (she/her)
Tricia Boucher, Open Pedagogy Librarian, Texas State University (she/her)
Lauren Ray, Open Education Librarian, University of Washington (they/them)
Kate McNally Carter (moderator), University of Houston (she/her)
