There is still time to submit a proposal for the third Open Texas Conference (https://www.opentexas.org/open-texas-2024), to be held virtually September 25-27, 2024.

Join us on an extraordinary voyage at Open Texas 2024 as we delve into Global Horizons of Open Education: The View from Texas. This year, we are transcending traditional boundaries to foster innovative, inspiring, and transformative ideas that reflect the essence of open education through the lens of Texas. We aim to challenge the limits of the imaginable, integrating educational theory and practice with a focus on global collaboration and sustainable innovation. Your proposals should illuminate paths towards not only advancing open education but also ensuring its sustainability and adaptability for future generations.

We invite you to explore and share how we can utilize the unique perspective of Texas to pioneer sustainable practices within open education. How do your ideas contribute to a resilient and enduring open education ecosystem that supports global collaboration, innovation, and sustainability?  We aim to collaboratively craft a future where open education thrives, guided by the principles of sustainability and transformative thinking. We are looking for session proposals related to the following themes:

  • Global Collaboration and Partnerships

  • Technology and Open Education

  • Policy and Advocacy in Open Education

  • Student Voices in Open Education

  • Sustainability Models for OER

  • Other (innovative and ground-breaking issues impacting OER not covered above)

Whether you are a first-time or veteran presenter, we welcome your proposals! Librarians, faculty, students, industry professionals, and educational leaders of all stripes are invited to showcase their ideas and engage in stimulating conversations regarding how unique perspectives in Texas can promote and enhance collaborative open education on a global stage. We have a variety of formats ranging from brief lightning talks to longer sessions like panel discussions and interactive workshops, so you should be able to find an outlet that fits your preferences!
