Hello,
I’m excited to announce an upcoming Texas freshwater mussel and fish identification short course to be held at Texas State University May 24-27, 2022. This course is designed to assist government agency personnel, consultants, NGO staff, educators, students, or other interested parties in accurate identification of Texas inland fishes and freshwater mussels. The four-day course will include two days of mussel identification instruction by Dr. Charles Randklev and colleagues from Texas A&M University, and two days of fish identification instruction by Dr. Timothy Bonner, Brad Littrell, and colleagues from Texas State University. It will involve both lecture and laboratory settings to get hands-on experience in identification of Texas fishes and mussels. The course will provide continuing education credits through Texas State University’s Continuing Education Department. Cost is $700/person. The course will run from approximately 8:00 to 5:00 each day, and light snacks and coffee will be provided in the mornings. Lunches and lodging are not included. Due to lab size restrictions, we are limited to a maximum of 50 participants, so register early to ensure yourself a spot.
Registration can be conducted online at the following link: https://www.txstate.edu/continuinged/CE-face-to-face/Fish-ID-Course.html
If you have any questions about the course, please contact me (blit...@bio-west.com), Charles (Charles....@ag.tamu.edu), or Tim TBo...@txstate.edu.
Thanks!
