Hi,
The organizers of Comicpalooza have offered to allow FRC, VEX Robotics, VEXIQ, and  teams to demonstrate during their event. The Discobots and Spectrum are working with the organizers of the Houston Maker Faire to hold a large exposition of the Houston Maker Community including HS robotics.

What: Comicpalooza, demo to 30,000 people

When: 9am-6pm 5/23 - 5/26. Memorial Day Weekend. We are hoping teams will sign up for at least one full day. You can be there more if you like or if you can only come half a day we can work that out as well.  The busiest days will be Saturday and Sunday, but we will need robots and teams the other days too. Equipment load-in and removal will be outside normal Comicpalooza business hours of 10am-6pmeach day. We prefer that participating robots are brought in on Friday morning, left in place for viewing (behind a crowd divider) and removed early evening Monday, if possible.

Where: George R. Brown Convention Center, Halls A - C, Houston, Texas

Setup: 6' table per team and half an FRC Team Field (Carpet, Goals, Etc) If you can help with field elements please let me know in the survey. We would like them to be painted and as professional as possible. . It's OK for you to put-up team banners, posters and flyers, but the typical 10x10 pit space won't be available. It's OK to wear your team attire and colors -- in face, we encourage it!

Cost: Free to teams but you will have to pay for parking downtown and food.

There may be opportunities for presentations on the benefits of student participation in these robotics programs, mentoring, or interesting parts of your robots.

RSVP Form (Please do so by 5-2-2014 at the latest)

Please let myself or Andrew Lynch know if you have any questions.

 Thank You,
Allen Gregory
