You are receiving this because you have attended one of our events in the past. I am reaching out to invite you to 2 upcoming events/ceremonies we have planned this coming week for Aztec (Mexica) New Year.
SAN ANTONIO, TX: Thursday, March 12th, 2015 Mujeres Mercado and Kalpulli Ameyaltonal Tejaztlan invites you to join us for an Aztec Birth Readings Workshop. Join us on Thursday, March 12th and get an explanation of how an Aztec Birth Reading works and receive a digital, personalized Aztec Birth Certificate. Attendees will learn about the symbols found in their Birth Certificate based on the Aztec Calendar and Codex Borgia. An explanation of how these symbols relate to decoding a deeper understanding of self-awareness will be given. This is an introductory workshop to understanding the Aztec Calendar. No prior knowledge of the Aztec Calendar is necessary. Bring a notepad to take notes and be prepared to provide your date, year and time of birth. COST: $50
SAN ANTONIO, TX: Sunday, March 15th, 2015 at 12 Noon, Kalpulli Ameyaltonal Tejaztlan in collaboration with Avenida Guadalupe invites you to join us for an Aztec New Year Celebration. Join us on Sunday, March 15th for a family friendly day celebrating of the Aztec New Year. Our festivities will be showcasing the gathering of over 50 Aztec Dancers from all over Texas and Mexico in a traditional Aztec danza ceremony. This is a FREE family event. Families will enjoy scheduled workshops promoting sustainable living through gardening, composting, permaculture and recycling encouraging the community to live a healthy lifestyle in harmony with the earth. Local vendors will also be present.

We will honor our ancestors by lighting our altar and making our ofrendas. This is a nocturnal danza ritual where we will sing in Nahuatl and Spanish honoring the Mexica tradition until sunrise. Guests are encouraged to bring FLOWERS, CANDLES, INCENSE or FRUIT for the altar.
SUNDAY MARCH 15TH

We will celebrate the New Year by raising the New Year flag and tying of the ceremonial reeds. Danzantes from all over Texas and Mexico will celebrate with a full danza ceremony. Enjoy family friendly activites, story telling and workshops throughout the day coordinated by local permacultarist Nadia Gaona featuring various methods of gardening, composting and recycling. Our goal is to engage the community in activites that promote taking care of your health, the environment and your community.
