Steering Committee Update, 1/23/2017

Dear Texas Archivematica Users Group Members:

 

On behalf of the steering committee, I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with some important updates.  Our last meeting was 1/20/2017, in which we discussed the following:

 

• the necessity of a foundational document for the group
• establishing the group’s Google Drive
• updating the group’s welcome message
• discussing initial details of the group’s presence at TCDL in May

 

We have been in close contact with TDL, and we are tentatively set to have an in-person meeting at TCDL on Thursday, May 25 from 1pm-4pm.  In March, the steering committee will be in contact to work with group members to develop programming for this meeting.

 

Also, we have worked with TDL to establish a Google Drive for the group, where we will store presentations and documentation from in-person meetings as well as resources users would like to share with the TX Archivematica community.  Please keep an eye out for an invitation to the Google Drive.

 

As we progress with the drafting of a foundational document, we will be sure to share our efforts with the group.  Our intention is to circulate a draft for feedback prior to the meeting in May, and to finalize/approve a draft at this in-person meeting.

 

Thank you again for your interest in helping build a strong regional group dedicated to sharing experiences with Archivematica.  We look forward to being in touch in the coming months!
