Texas Archivematica Users Group Welcome & Call for Steering Committee Members

Dear Texas Archivematica Users Group,

The Fall semester is in full swing, the leaves are changing, and the mornings are getting cool. I hope you all are enjoying the transitioning weather and that your digital preservation efforts are moving forward!  I am getting in touch with you all to start discussions about really getting this group off the ground.

To start things off, I think it might be a worthwhile idea to establish community structure and organization, along with norms and ideas for future projects, so that we can ensure that the group is actively striving to support Texas Archivematica users.

That said, I am asking for volunteers to be on a steering committee.  The purpose of the steering committee will be to establish the mission and charter of the Texas Archivematica Users Group and to propose potential activities to meet the needs of the Texas Archivematica user community.  For the sake of efficiency, I envision this committee consisting of four individuals, one perhaps coming from TDL to ensure effective communication.

If you are interested in participating, please email me directly at ajkr...@uh.edu with a very brief statement of interest.  If I receive an overwhelming number of responses, I may need to limit it to the first respondents.

Thank you all for your interest in Archivematica efforts here in Texas, and I look forward to really seeing this group take off to become a useful resource to us all.

Hi Everyone,

I'm just checking in to see if we could get one more volunteer for the steering committee for the Texas Archivematica Users Group!  I'm envisioning monthly calls for a few months until the mission, vision, and structure of the group are established.  It shouldn't be a huge time commitment!
