Dear Members,

Thank you for all of your hard work and support for the last few
months. The Texas legislative session is over. Most of the dog-related
bills that we were keeping an eye on have died.

We typically do not see many BSL-related issues arise on a state level
during special sessions or the interim between sessions. The next full
session begins in January 2013.

On a local level, occasionally, a city or town in Texas considers BSL.
However, such an event is rare, because as you know, state law
prohibits BSL.

In keeping with my goal to keep this a very low-volume mailing list,
you can expect not to receive any email from this list for some
months. However, I encourage you all to remain members, so that you
will receive the rare BSL alert that may arise over the next few
years, and of course, the next legislative session.

Thanks again for your diligent efforts against breed-specific laws
this year. I believe your vocal opposition was the primary reason
"Justin's Law" did not even get past the first step in the legislative
process. Please enjoy the "downtime" between sessions!
